Taiwan Railway Pet Riding Regulations

Taiwan Railways allows passengers to bring pets, but there are some clear rules that need to be followed:

• Container size restrictions : Pets must be placed in a pet box or bag with a length of 55 cm, a width of 45 cm, and a height of 38 cm or less.
• Pet limit : A maximum of two pet containers are allowed per passenger.
• Pet Stroller Rules : If using a pet stroller, it must be a collapsible stroller and meet the above dimensions.
• Safety and Hygiene : Make sure the pet container is packed securely and there is no risk of feces leaking out, and it should be placed under the seat.

High-speed rail pet riding regulations

The regulations for carrying pets on high-speed rail are as follows:

• Container size restrictions : Pet containers must be packed securely and not exceed 55 cm in length, 45 cm in width, and 38 cm in height .
• Number and location of pets : Each passenger can carry up to two pet containers. The second pet container can only be carried after purchasing an adjacent seat.
• Special regulations : Pet containers are not allowed to be placed on seats, dining tables, luggage racks or luggage storage areas in the carriage.

MRT Pet Riding Regulations

The pet riding regulations on Taipei MRT are as follows:

• Pet stroller size :
  • Small and medium-sized pet strollers : total length, width, and height shall not exceed 175 cm .
  • Large pet stroller: total length, width and height are between 176 and 220 cm .
• Opening hours and stations : Small and medium-sized pet cars can be used at all stations, and no additional tickets are required. Large pet cars are only allowed to bring pets in and out during specific times and stops, and a one-way pet car ticket must be purchased.

Regulations for traveling pets on passenger vehicles

Due to space limitations in passenger transportation, the size of the pet-carrying container is small. It is recommended to carry pets in pet baskets/boxes.

No additional charges: Hexin Passenger Transport, Guoguang Passenger Transport, Gamalan Passenger Transport

• Container size : Hexin Passenger Transport has a limit of length, width and height of about 45x36x45cm . If you do not have a pet container, you can purchase a special pet transport carton. Guoguang Passenger Transport restricts the total length, width and height to less than 270 cubic centimeters . There are no special restrictions on Gamalan passenger transport.
• Number of pets : Each passenger is limited to one pet container.
• Safety and hygiene : Pets should be placed in the designated location, and the packaging must be intact and no feces or liquids leak out.

Additional pet fares are required: Tonglian Passenger Transport

• Pet fare: RMB 100 and does not occupy a seat. Passengers traveling on a connecting trip only need to purchase it on the first trip and present the previous certificate when transferring. If the one-way fare is less than 100 yuan, it will be calculated as half fare.
• Container size : There is no special size limit. However, if the pet stroller is too large, it may affect the passage. The stroller must be placed in the luggage storage area and a pet basket must be used to carry the pet.
• Number of pets : Each passenger is limited to one pet container.

Different passenger transportation companies have different regulations for pets traveling on buses. It is recommended to call and inquire before taking the bus.

Regulations for pets traveling on Shuangbei buses

• Container dimensions : The dimensions shall not exceed 55 cm in length, 45 cm in width and 40 cm in height .
• Number of items allowed : Each passenger is limited to one item .
• Safety regulations : Pets must be placed in a pet box or small container, and the packaging must be complete and there is no risk of leakage of feces or liquids.
• Other regulations : Small animals should be kept nearby and taken care of with care, and should not be placed on seats or luggage racks or in the carriage aisles.
